's great to be with you. host: you are in the midst of a 100-city tour that you tell me is running through election day. where are you at this point in the tour, and how many more cities do you have? guest: well, i think i'm at c-span right now, although it is a little confusing. last night i was at the university of virginia in charlingtsville. today we'll be at the washington convention center, the green fest tonight. baltimore book fest. tomorrow, richmond, virginia, at noon. and then in the evening i'll speak in norfolk. then on monday night, we'll be at virginia tech, which is very interesting, going back to the scene of the massacre. i'll be speaking there, you know, 32 people were killed there. and colin goddard is coming with us. he was one of those victims. he was shot four times. i'm also looking forward to interviewing a professor there. and then we're on to colorado for the big debate. we're going to be doing something interesting. we're both speaking on the silent majority election 2012 tour, but also we do this daily, radio and television broadcast that airs on over 1,100 sta

is going to be the new home for the city's morgue. from security doors using eye identification -- >> thank you, you have been identified. >> reporter: -- to water tanks for testing bullets, to walking into a morgue storage room, with a space for 200 refrigerated bodies, twice the old capacity. the new $210 million forensics headquarters, three years to construct, is a major improvement for crime and chemical analysis that has eluded the district for decades. >> the potential that this building gives to the district of columbia to increase, improve, and expand its ability to do forensic analysis, to solve crimes, is just enormous. >> reporter: it will take several more months for the building to be fully operational. but the city no longer will have to depend upon fbi facilities in quantico and elsewhere for detailed analysis. some residents in nearby homes were initially worried that the building might pose a potential hazard if chemicals escaped or there were fires. >> when you walk by the building, you don't need to get scared of what's happening inside. it is a friendly looking building

rate of any big city school system. one thing i want, i hope the whole panel will be able to address, so i have children, and you look at these numbers and they're just astonishing. you are going to earn $15 a year, and our when you're age 50 if you dropout from high school. that's if you were. there's a good chance we'll be unemployed. one at a 25 are incarcerated at why do people make these decisions and how did you get them to change them? >> it's very hard. when a child is such dropped out of school, it's a hard decision. some people think is easy. is one of the toughest decision the cable make in a lifetime. we do get to the point where they decided to give up, before jumping into saying a few things, it's about people. houston is about people. it's the greatest city in the country. my wife and i love living there. the weather does not equal that of san diego but the people are fabulous. so interesting in houston in 2007 by dropout rate was 22.5%. today, it's 11.8% number. so we cut it in half. as we did in queensboro north carolina and as we were beginning to do in san diego. i
